Standardized Testing

Standardized Testing sessions are for students preparing to take the SAT or ACT. I recommend booking these sessions at least one month before the test date, although they may be completed at any time. It is also recommended, but certainly not required, to complete these sessions in-person. Being able to work side-by-side drastically increases the rate at which we can work through material. I offer the following types of sessions:

  • FREE 15 minute consultation prior to session
  • Generic SAT/ACT Overview session
  • Practice Test Walkthroughs
  • Standardized Essay Writing
  • Individualized Sessions based on Client Needs

Important Notes:

  • The purchase of any 1 session comes with a free 15 minute consultation session, where we will work together to determine your standardized test prep needs. If you or your child is undecided on whether to take the SAT or ACT, this session will also provide an individualized suggestion.
  • Each session is for ENGLISH testing only. While many of the tips and tricks I discuss may be applicable to other portions of the SAT/ ACT, I am not qualified to tutor in math nor science.
  • For discounted prices for multiple sessions, please see the Standardized Testing Package.

College Applications

College Applications sessions are for high school seniors in their fall semester who are applying to one of more undergraduate schools, or for current undergraduate students hoping to advance to graduate school. I recommend booking these sessions during September and October, since most applications are due at the end of October or mid-November. However, summer sessions and last-minute sessions are welcome. I offer the following types of sessions:

  • 1 FREE 15 minute consultation prior to session
  • Generic College Application Overview
  • Application Question Workshop
  • Personal Statement Workshop
  • Individualized Sessions based on Client Needs

Important Notes:

  • The purchase of any 1 session comes with a free 15 minute consultation, where we will discuss your goals and concerns. If you or your child remain undecided about which schools to apply to, this session can also help to determine safety, target, and reach schools based on the applicant’s academics and extracurriculars.
  • The strategies and advice presented during these sessions is based on the current generic application climate. I am unable to customize sessions to appeal to specific schools, although I can help students find the resources to do so.

Academic Essay

Academic Essay sessions are for high school or undergraduate students working on any type of academic paper. These sessions can be booked at any time. I offer the following types of sessions:

  • 1 FREE 15 minute consultation prior to session
  • Brainstorming and Outlining
  • Finding and Organizing Sources
  • Developing Arguments and Synthesizing Ideas
  • Drafting
  • Citing Sources
  • Final Editing and Reviewing
  • Individualized Sessions based on Client Needs

Important Notes:

  • All types of academic essays are welcome. This includes, but is not limited to: informative, argumentative/persuasive, research, explorative, analytical, descriptive, comparative, and/or narrative essays.
  • In order to assist you to the best of my ability, please come prepared with the essay rubric and any other information about the assignment provided by your instructor.
  • Any material that is proven to be plagiarized or written by artificial intelligence will result in the immediate termination of your session and your payment will not be refunded.

Other Academic Writing

Other Academic Writing sessions are for high school or college students working on a writing assignment that is not a paper or essay. I offer the following types of sessions:

  • 1 FREE 15 minute consultation prior to session
  • Discussion Posts
  • Book Reports
  • Creative Writing (Short Stories)
  • Proposals
  • Summaries
  • Presentations
  • Speeches
  • Individualized Sessions based on Client Needs

Important Notes:

  • For presentations, speeches, and other oral deliveries, I am not qualified to offer feedback on your presentation tactics (such as posture, delivery, annunciation, engagement, etc). I would only be offering assistance and feedback regarding the written content of the assignment.

Beta Reading

Beta Reading is for anyone working on a long-form project. Since length and content varies drastically, please send me an email with your beta reading needs, and I will respond with a quote. I offer beta reading for the following works:

  • Thesis
  • Dissertation
  • Novella
  • Novel
  • Scripts

Important Notes:

  • When emailing, please provide the following information: type of work, length (pages and word count appreciated!), topic or concept, 3-5 page excerpt, and your ideal timeline.

Proofreading and Feedback

Proofreading and Feedback sessions are great for students or professionals who are busy or do not need help in the early to middle stages of the writing process. These sessions take place over email. Simply send me your submission and I will offer detailed feedback. This option is for any type of writing.

Important Notes:

  • The feedback window is within 48 hours of submission.
  • Any submissions over 7 pages long automatically extend to 96-hour feedback, and the price automatically raises to $50.
  • Please note that this feedback will not be content-based, but instead, solely focused on the writing and how well the content is discussed.
